This healthy-ish banana bread is ridiculously delicious and easy. Replace the chocolate chips with pecans or walnuts and have it for breakfast or add both chocolate and nuts and have it as a mid day treat with a cup of tea. It’s an amazing gift too. You’ll be everyone’s favorite guest if you bring this beautiful banana bread loaf, lol.
- 2cup whole wheat flour
- 4tbs baking powder
- 1/4tsp sea salt
- 1/2tsp cinnamon
- 1/4tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2cup mashed overripe bananas
- 1/2cup maple syrup or molasses
- 1/2cup neutral vegetable oil
- 1tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2cup chocolate chips or nuts (or both)
Preheat the oven to 160C. Line a large (mine is about 22x10cm) loaf pan with baking paper.
In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients. Add all the wet ingredients into another bowl, whisking it together. Add your dry ingredients into the wet and give it a good mix, add chocolate chips or nuts and mix it through the batter evenly. Transfer the batter into the baking tin and bake it in the over for about 40-50 min. You might need less time or more, depending on the oven, so keep an eye on it after 30 minutes of baking.
